One of the must-do things in Bangkok is to shop and eat at its night markets. But if you’re like my best friend who’s Muslim, you might be lost not knowing which night market to go to… Since there aren’t many Muslim-friendly night markets in this metropolitan city.

Luckily, I stumbled across TaladNad Kokotho – a hugeeee night market by Ramkhamhaeng University with tons of halal food, and guess what? I LOVED it here!!

Don’t get me started on the shopping scene. Clothes and accessories for him or her (or your mini-mes)? Household goods for your home sweet home? You’ll find them all here!

You can even get a quick haircut if you have the time (sorry ladies, men only).

Curious what else the market has to offer? Scroll down to find out!

1. Ready to dig into some delicious food? – Halal & Non-Halal Food

Don’t say I didn’t warn you. Come with an empty belly because you’ll definitely regret it otherwise. From satay and roasted chicken to fried sausages and sushi, find a wide array of delicious halal and non-halal food choices. You can even get affordable Western and Thai desserts here (boba drinks or cakes anyone?).

Tip: Sit around the lake (on the grass) located in the middle of the night market to savour your food. Note that this is an open-air area, so you won’t be able to sit here when it rains.

Note: To differentiate between halal and non-halal food stalls, look for the halal certification on their banner. Alternatively, check with the store owners if they’re selling halal food. Most of the Muslim-operated stores do offer halal food.

You can even shop new bedding here at TaladNad KoKoTho! This means replacing your old ones with new pillows, towels and bedding. I mean, nothing feels better than new bed sheets, pillow covers and bed covers right? You can even get the same pillows and towels you see in hotels (without paying the same amount of price). Great eh?

As for men, get your much-needed haircut at the barber here. It’s always fun to get a new haircut when you’re travelling right? (At least, that’s what my friends have told me!)
