When you think of Thailand beaches, island hopping in Phuket or snorkeling in Krabi probably comes to mind. Otherwise, Pattaya might also seem as the perfect getaway from Bangkok.

Hua Hin, on the other hand, promises white sandy beaches and an exciting rustic getaway from Bangkok.

Getting to Hua Hin from Bangkok (Tap to expand)

How to get to Hua Hin from Bangkok:

1. Train – Head to Hualamphong Station (Bangkok’s main train station), for an adventurous 4 to 5 hour train ride down to Hua Hin. Rates go from USD$16 per trip.

2. Bus – Travelling via bus to Hua Hin takes around 3 hours, almost the same time it takes to travel by plane, and cheaper too from USD$5. Head down to Sai Tai Mai (Southern Bus Terminal Bangkok), and book a (comfortable and air-conditioned) ride with Hua Hin Pran Tour. Buses depart from 4am at 40-minute intervals.

3. Car (Not recommended for the inexperienced driver)

– We recommend renting a car in Bangkok for your time in Hua Hin. Simply load the directions on GPS (or Google Maps on your phone). The journey is relatively straightforward, and will take up to 3 hours. The best part? Having a car will make exploring Hua Hin and Petchaburi much easier!
– When renting a car, make sure to check your rental car thoroughly – from ensuring that everything is working fine, to when it was last serviced.

With a rustic charm unbeknownst to many, this once quiet fishing village has transformed into a bustling vacation hotspot.

The rise of luxurious hotels, trendy spas and seafood night markets has also seen some really great cafes popping up. Without further ado, we bring to you some of the coolest cafés to check out.

And yes, we promise they are highly Instagrammable too.
