As an avid reader of historical romance novels (yep, I’ve read tonssss of them!), I’ve always imagined the dukes in my books living in big, castle-like buildings surrounded by a vast garden. So imagine my surprise when I saw Chateau De Khaoyai Hotel & Resort!

With its grand building structures, beautifully pruned trees and scenic mountain views, you might mistakenly think you’ve been transported to the 1800s in England. The rooms are even adorned with regency-style furniture – from Victorian lampshades to wooden bed frames! Definitely 1800s.

7. Meet your new favourite European city on a hill – La Purinee Khaoyai

Something I’ve always loved about countryside cities in Europe was the tranquility and cobbled stone walkways. Luckily, now I just need to drive 4 hours from Bangkok to enjoy the same experience.

At La Purinee Khaoyai, you’ll discover a row of European houses located on a hill and rooms ranging from attic rooms to villas.

But if you’re feeling adventurous, stay a night (or several nights) at one of the two caravans.

While you’re here, spend an afternoon picnicking on the hill or enjoying tea and dessert in the restaurant.

PS: There’s also an infinity pool you can swim in, perfect when the weather gets too hot if you’re in Khao Yai outside of winter time!

8. Have a deep love for all things Japan? – Zen Villa Khao Yai

After starting with a cafe and small restaurant in Khao Yai, the owners of Casa de Cafe decided to expand to Casa de Montana. And are we glad they did!

Their new concept hotel is full of fun. At Casa de Montana you can stay the night in an authentic caravan. Each room is an independent camper complete with a double bed, couch, TV and tiny kitchen.

The campervans are situated in a circle, providing a central focal point to meet in the evening. You might even find a small party around a campfire here in the evening. By the time you leave Casa de Montana, you’ll have made several new friends over the romantic light of the campfire.
