PS: Seriously, Khao Kho reminded us of Thailand’s version of Cingjing. Look at this photo taken at Tanrak Coffee Khao Kho! (Yes, that’s me.) There’s a fair bit of stuff to do here, perrrfect weather, and it’s an unexpectedly gorgeous locale too.
2. Immerse yourself in Thai culture at it’s best – Blue Sky Resort

3. Finding Maldives in Thailand and dining in a bird nest in the trees – Soneva Kiri (Koh Kood, Trat)
Famous among travel bloggers all around the world, it’s a wonder most of us South East Asians haven’t heard of Soneva Kiri.
This incredible luxury destination provides everything a couple will need for the ultimate romantic escape.

4. Stay in luxury tented villas by cascading waterfalls – Sukantara Cascade Resort & Spa
Surrounded by lush mountains and greenery, Sukantara Cascade Resort & Spa is one unique hotel in Chiang Mai – that’s slowly becoming a favourite of many by enchanting travellers with a blissful retreat.
Set on flourishing hillside, this divine abode offers Lanna-Balinese style cottages in jungle greenery and cascading waterfalls. It’s pretty crazy waking up to a waterfall right infront of your little villa!

The pool villas are famously frequented by celebrities both local and international. But we propose taking the off-beaten path if you’re a couple that loves unique stays – and staying at the tented villas by the waterfall.

As the trickling water falls on the boulders, the sprinkled water creates luscious mist and it’s basically an experience that begs to be had at least once in your lifetime together!

Enjoy crossing the resort’s sling bridge to reach your tented villa. If you reserve both tented villas (there are only 2, consider a double date vacay!), then you have this whole other side of the resort all to yourselves.

We certify that this romantic retreat will intensify your romance to a whole new level.
PS: The resort has free roaming peacocks (there’s even the super rare albino peacock!), exotic birds and cute kittens on the grounds, so do be careful. When we were there, we witnessed the peacocks jumping down from a roof right over our heads!
5. Super unique marine-themed resort – Kaengkrachan Boathouse Paradise (1.5 hour drive from Hua Hin)
We had to include this in the list. It’s super unique with boathouses you can actually stay in!
Luxury accommodation located within Aium Chun boats, it’s interesting to think that these were actual boats locals used to use for not just transportation, but as their homes too.
Located near Kaeng Krachan National Park Kaeng Krachan Dam, these floating stays boast unexpectedly elegant interiors.
There’s one for the honeymooners (Honeymoon Suite Boat), and one for families (Family Suite Boat), and more options depending on what you’re looking for.
Single storey or double storey, the choice is yours. We’ve even seen a grand tub for 2 in one of the boathouses!
If you finally manage to pry yourself off the boat, there’s the resort swimming pool you can head to for afternoon dips.
Otherwise, feel free to rent the free bicycles and kayaks for some casual fun!
When you’re finally tired and hungry from your day’s activities, check out the in-house Khoongnam and Baanrua Restaurant for a well-deserved meal.
Sounds fun? It sure does to us.
6. Stay in a jungle treehouse (pool included!) just like Tarzan and Jane – Keemala Treehouse (Phuket)
Start with local history, incorporate seriously creative design, add a big dash of luxurious style and you’ve got Keemala Treehouse. At this unique hotel in Phuket, the treehouses are inspired by the stories of the ancient Keemala clans.
This is where you’ll truly get to feel like Tarzan and Jane, staying in a real life romantic version of ‘treehouses’.
Each cottage or bungalow reflects the manner and culture of the specific clan, highlighting the importance of the traits they believed in. With four different options to choose from, there’s a bungalow fit for couples – as well as friends or groups traveling together.

PS: If you can’t room a book here for any reason, we recommend visiting The Giant Café perfectly nestled on a GIANT tree because it’s that amazing.
Photo Via Puifainaka
Begin by taking an hour and half car ride through the forest and then walk swaying on a rope bridge (2 person at a time only!). We guarantee a divine coffee at the end of your sojourn.
8. It feels like a deserted island! – Tara Cape Resort
Situated in Ban Hin Hak, Tara Cape Resort is literally in the middle of a lake – so much so that it feels almost like it’s a deserted island in the middle of nowhere. To reach the resort, you’ll definitely need to take a boat ride (unless you have the ability to walk on water). 😛
Once here, you’ll find that it features a really unique stone decor where the exteriors and room interiors display walls made of stone. It feels cosy and the rock interiors are surprisingly welcoming and sophisticated – and it reminds us a little of the stone-age qualities of The Flintstones!
Sit on your terrace and unwind by the lake, or lay in the over-water net and watch the clouds drift by, Tara Cape Resort provides a quiet bliss that can be hard to find nowadays.
Expect barbeques, room service (and grocery deliveries too!), fishing frolics and have the most blissful time here!

It’s pretty intense on the romance factor, seeing as you two will spend the night on a raised rooftop platform – feeling like you’re isolated from the rest of the world, just enjoying the beauty and serenity of the night together.
If there’s ever one romantic couple experience to have in Bangkok, this is definitely it.
PS: Should it rain, or if insects come along, they do have a contingency plan, so you don’t have to worry!
11. Where all your troubles float away – The Float House River Kwai
We truly can’t resist the romantic floating river resorts in Kanchanaburi, and The Float House River Kwai was unforgettable for us.
Your river romance starts with a 7 minute longtail boat trip – as you transfer from the private Phutakien Pier to your luxury villa – much more fun than a boring taxi!
The floating air-conditioned villas are large and luxurious, with beautiful teakwood furniture and traditional thatched roofs. Your private balcony complete with deck chairs and a porch swing, bobs gently on the river, the perfect place to relax and have intimate conversations at night.

Luxury camping in comfortably modern and spacious tents, and the opportunity to interact with elephants in their natural surroundings – could be one of the most romantic things you could do with your partner. Especially if you have strong views on the ethical elephant welfare.
