1. From gorgeous surroundings to stunning design – Green Pix Khaoyai

Feel as if you’re in your very own rockpool, or even waterfall for that matter with the stand out feature of this stay totally being it’s stunning pools built to run straight through, and down, the resort!

Each unit is built on either side of the pools, so it feels like you’re surrounded by water.

Speaking of, there are loads of different options to choose from, each unit with its own unique feature; from private pools, to freestanding tubs, gorgeous views and contemporary design – I’m so into the general aesthetic of this stay!

2. I’m sorry, are we in Africa or Asia…?! – Isaan-Isan Boutique Resort by Andacura

Being South African, the first thing I thought was ‘Mamma Africa’ to be honest, but then again, I feel like some of the landscapes and stays in Khao Yai (Lala Mukha Tented Resort anyone?) take on this theme.

Anyhoo, here they definitely follow suit and I’m obsessed with the wooden & bamboo architectural show-stopper that guests are greeted to as you enter the grounds (again, very African-vibes).

However, they have managed to fuse African with Traditional Thai creating this gorgeous design work and theme throughout the property – they actually go so well together!

There’s a small stream that runs through the gardens and pathways, and you’re completely surrounded by the beautiful mountains, with views at every corner.

3. Tranquility at its best and there’s a sunflower garden too! – Baannokkokna Khaoyai

Take a step back from reality and jump into simplistic and clean living for awhile (where no such thing as TV or wifi exists BTW). I think it’s definitely one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen for sure.

As if all the green that surrounds you isn’t enough, it’s built next to a canal, which you can take a paddle through, with bridges connecting the pathways throughout – you guys.., it makes for seriously pretty photos.

The rooms are just gorgeous, all done in natural woods and brick with sharp, clean minimalistic features. They have 13 different beautifully styled ‘houses’ that have been named in Korat (the local dialect).

The open, breezy rooms are so spacious, they accommodate both couples and families perfectly! Whichever room you choose has a living space too – which makes sure you can enjoy some relaxing private moments.

4. A Disney-style mega mansion with mountain valley views – U Khao Yai

Hidden in a serene, green valley is the magnificent, sprawling estate of U Khao Yai.

It looks like a scene straight from a Disney movie, maybe Prince Charming lives here! The rooms are spacious and well appointed with European-style furnishings and have great views over the sculpted resort gardens, lake and waterfall.

It’s more like a giant palace than a hotel, with plenty of shared seating areas and quiet armchairs to relax in.

5. A gorgeous, jungle-esque riverside stay with loads of fun activities! – Watermill Resort

Are you the type of person that always feels more at peace near water? (I’m one of them). Well, this simply stunning stay is right on a riverside’s edge, and with such a beautiful location, all you’ll feel is zen.

Sticking with its name, there are such epic old-school watermill structures around, plus swings over the water, and a netted barge for you to chill on if you don’t feel like getting wet – and make for amazing photos!

The individual units here are scattered in and amongst the garden, some facing directly onto the water, and the natural lush greenery (plus a million ferns and fauna around) guarantees beautiful views throughout!

6. Endless views of greens – Veravian Resort

Set along a hillside, end your day with a great book, glass of vino and a bubble bath looking out directly into the horizon.

As you wake in the morning, step out onto your patio, take a refreshing dip in your private pool and drink in the views of the treetops in front of you.

The rooms here are super spacious and light, with all the niceties and comforts of home. I also have to throw a shoutout to epic, geometric finishes they’ve used in the rooms – I’m a sucker for an abstract lighting fixture…Interior nerd over here!

7. The luxurious resort with mountain views and a water/theme park!  – Greenery Resort Khao Yai

You could be forgiven for thinking that this resort is an actual temple, with the traditional Thai style-roof piercing above the tree line.

The rest of the world will feel a million miles away as you relax in the pool and enjoy the evening birdsongs.

Rooms at the Greenery Resort are elegant and fit perfectly into the tropical surroundings, with lots of natural material and light throughout.

10. A mix between Tarzan and Alice in Wonderland vibes – The Forest For Rest Resort

Wowee, from the minute you enter the resort’s front wrought-iron gates shaped like the tree of life (where you’re greeted by a troop of (statue) ducks), feel as if you’ve been transported to another world, a modern sort of forest if you will.

The entire set-up can only be described as ultra-cool, with a stunning garden running throughout the property. Here you’ll find checkered pathways and garden greens, a gorgeous Koi Pond, and the cutest garden furniture.

12. Pretty in pink Santorini and spa baths with a view – Phukumhom Resort

The pink villas of the Phukumhom resort hotel look striking against the emerald green natural backdrop. The bright colour and tiled terraces look like a pink version of the famous Greek island of Santorini – not the middle of Thailand.

The outside might be alright, but the rooms are pure luxury, with traditional dark wood and crisp white linen. Oh and nothing says relaxation like a spa bath with a view.

Villa Italian is exactly how you would imagine a grand old Italian mansion to look. From the vaulted ceilings to the flowers trailing down the walls – oh and the creeping vines too!

The villa looks out across the majestic old gardens and is brightened by a terrace covered with flowering vines.
