If you’re anything like me and love a good wintery mountain vacation….

AND, you’re looking for an inexpensive destination…..

Consider Khao Kho. A 5D4N family itinerary to Khao Kho & Bangkok alone will already only cost you USD $129.50 / SGD $179 per person excluding flights. Isn’t that crazy?

The stays here at Khao Kho aren’t too expensive too, with the most affordable option being from USD $31.

A 5.5-hour drive from Bangkok to Khao Kho will transport you to this magical town above the clouds. Due to the cooler temperature, the scenery is vastly different from the Thailand you are used to.

One of the famous views we can’t forget? The sea of rolling clouds – just like in a Studio Ghibli film!

3. Your own little house in the mountains – Kho Kirin Resort

Wake up to the rolling hills, garden of greens and picturesque flower beds.

What’s so perfect about this place is the size of where you’ll be calling home for the next few days.

Photo Via Kellyvarankana

Photo Via Flamecorrin, Dulyavit.phongpiladlux

Structural, simple and squared, each unit really feels like it’s own little space; like you’re living in your own garden cottage for awhile. Stay in a teepee, surrounded by foliage with a view over the clouds – this is glamping in the clouds. There are a few options, but we’ve got our eye on the White Dome Tent.

It’s secluded enough for comfort but not so that you’re isolated from food or human interaction.
