Is there really another island as breathtakingly beautiful as Koh Lipe? It is dubbed the ‘Maldives’ of Thailand after all, and for obvious reasons, with waters so crystal clear, I don’t know if I’ve seen a bluer blue before.
Now that I’m on this gorgeous island, I most definitely want to be staying somewhere where I’m on the beach and can see the ocean at all times.
With such natural beauty, it’s not hard to make everything else look so pretty, but these beach villas, bungalows and resorts caught our attention because of their extra special views and locations.
Enjoy the next couple of days kicking it back with your feet up (or in the sand), swaying gently to the ocean’s breeze in your hammock – book in hand, or spend a lazy afternoon soaking up the sunshine in your private patio pool. The options are tropical-island dreamy.
If you’re like me and feel most home when next to the ocean, your heart is going to be delighted! Enjoy ❤️
1. You might have found a slice of tropicana paradise – Serendipity Resort
Don’t you just love the word serendipity? It rolls so sweetly off the tongue – which just happens to be the case here too, in terms of an idyllic stay. I definitely wouldn’t mind spending a few days at this little tropicana piece of heaven – private pool and all!

Spend your days on a luscious green hillside, where each bungalow villa is built, and with sea views like this, you may never want to leave!

I love, love the design and style of each villa, classy yet natural with gorgeous finishes, and the rooms are spacious, light and open.

If travelling with a lover, their Pool Villas are ideal, with your own private pool on the patio onlooking Maldive-turquoise waters, or you can choose to work on your tan, lazing in your hammock poolside.

Depending on which room you’re staying in, it’s a less than 5-minute walk to Sunrise Beach, and they offer all your favourite water activities from canoeing to snorkelling.

It’s literally the perfect island getaway in my opinion. Oh yeah, and room service, please!
2. Looking for a total private-island feeling? – Idyllic Concept
Before sharing more about this resort, can I just say that we stayed here personally and absolutely loved our experience here.
We stayed in the i-Breeze room, which was literally 5 steps away from the ocean. I stayed up every night on our patio, chilling on the sofa while enjoying the sound of the waves and the ocean breeze. It was incredible!
Photo Via Somjitratarn, Jerrylim02
This is a great option if you’re looking for a place with a variety of room options too. Clean and classy, this resort almost feels secluded thanks to the layout of the resort.
Photo Via TripCanvas
Enjoy their outdoor pool (and bar), which also happens to be a few steps from the beach, or enjoy dinner by candlelight, on the beach, with the stars above you. It’s all super romantic and ambient, to say the least. 🖤🖤🖤

3. Enjoy a glass of vino, overlooking the ocean from your private pool – Mountain Resort
If you had to show me a picture simply of this location, I would already be sold. The real show here is of course, the ocean, but the rooms are promising too, and the Ocean Pool Villa is the real treat here.

Glass sliding doors ensure an incredible sunrise from the comforts of your soft bed, and if that’s not enough, there’s a perfectly sized pool for two on your patio too. (I love the contemporary/traditional Thai design they’ve infused!)

And if you’re a beach-bum who doesn’t want to spend that much, there’s the Deluxe Beach Bungalow with its stilts, literally, in the sand – this is the perfect option for you!

PS: This is another resort that is home to a (big) pool with beautiful lounging units, and they’re perfect for covering up from the sun.
5. Location, location, location! – The Cliff Lipe Resort
Escape from the world in this total island-feel stay, set among the trees and hibiscus flowers, staring out into crystal clear hues of blues.

They’ve absolutely nailed the ‘tropical island’ design – think Hawaii – and the resort is made up of villas and beach bungalows, all decked in gorgeous raw woods from the exterior to interiors.
Photo Via Mos.kannupak
I particularly love that these units don’t only consist of a bed, but also a sofa seating area inside, as well as a spacious and comfortable outdoor seating area. (This is always a plus for me, I love to just lounge around, with my holiday reading book in hand.)
Photo Via Pohnsikarn.style, Ann_winkwhite01
PS: I have to mention the minimalist tubs they’ve used in the bath area, and some units have their own private pool or spa tub. Oooohlala honey…

6. Could this truly be a fairytale? – Anda Resort
This reminds me of Sleeping Beauty, but if she stayed in a Thai castle garden, and this is giving me all the magical feels.
Photo Via Lizaabdul, Springwangcf
Relax, eat, swim, and enjoy the sunshine, with your feet literally in the sand at all times, and I love that there’s a big and inviting pool to dive into, in case you’re not feeling up for the ocean today!
Photo Via Aanehh, Ozzakki_tai
I love the style they’ve adopted, Thai meets Balinese design, and the odd spinning wheel here and there makes me think of the Netherlands (but it all works).
Their Deluxe Rooms with sea views are simply stunning, and I would happily wake up to that view every day.
Rooms are done in classy warm woods, high ceilings and open window doors make it feel spacious and airy.

PS: I loveeee the gorgeous four-poster bed, so regal!
7. Gorgeous individual modern beach villas, literally in the sand – Mali Resort
If you’ve ever travelled to Bali, I’m sure you’ll distinctly remember the design that they’re famous for, displaying high, pointy ceilings, with intricate woodwork.
Photo Via Powderkc
(I often see similarities between the Thai and Balinese design, hey?!), and I would say that this beautiful stay is perfect for couples.
There are various beach villa options, and they are all dispersed around the resort’s garden (which overruns with sand, as it’s on the beachfront). And most of them face the ocean and are in the sand!

I’m also sooo into the open-plan style bathrooms, decorated with plants and ferns, against industrial cement.
Photo Via Roselily7p, Jamepts
The rooms are classy and well-designed, with a lot of space to move around. I’m also really into the little nook area they’ve designed, another great spot for chilling in the afternoon sun.

8. For a more laid-back, jungle kinda feeling – Castaway Resort
If you’re not one for the frills and fancy things… Personally I’m a very laid-back relaxed kinda person, so a place like this pulls on my heartstrings.
Castaway Resort has got this jungle-island fever thing going on, and with the name and vibe they’ve adopted, it reminds me of the movie, The Beach (with Leonardo Decaprio) for some reason.
Photo Via Sofyoga
I love the naturalness and openness of the entire resort, as well as bungalows and villas.
The double story beachfront villas (Breezy Bungalow Beach Front), are incredible, with your room upstairs decorated colourfully using traditional Thai fabrics – and a gorgeous large patio with two hammocks, just perfect for chilling, lazing and drinking in all that ocean.

9. Everything you need in a beach-front hotel – Cabana Lipe Beach Resort
This is your typical beach-style cabana and it’s got everything you want and expect of a hotel, from toiletries to bathrobes – and each unit is equipped with a flatscreen TV (for when you want some downtime out the sun).

Enjoy breakfast on your balcony, right above the sands and shores of Sunrise beach, a great way to start the day!
The rooms have a ‘heavy’ furnished touch, with plush red leathers and dark woods, going for something classy – yet they keep it airy with the space and furniture + the glass balcony doors that allow all the natural light in!
10. You’ll definitely catch a romantic sunset from here, right on the beach – Salisa Resort
A little more low-key, in a fairy-like forest, this also happens to be a great choice if you’re travelling as a family! (The kids will have a blast running around this spacious setup on the sand).
Photo Via Noeypitchas, Banky405_photo
Everything here feels natural, set up among wispy trees, on soft white sands. The bungalow-style units have big, open doors and each unit has a patio.
The rooms have been designed using different raw materials and textures – and feel really private with your own private patio and space around you.

Activities at Salisa Resort include diving, snorkelling and canoeing. Guests can also contact the property’s tour desk for information about local excursions here too!

11. Pretty views & comfortable rooms – Chareena Hill
Looking for a divine ocean view, but don’t wanna break the bank? Well, folks, this is an ideal choice, and when you’ve got views like that, who really cares about all the other fusses anyway?
Photo Via Chockajoob, Sumi.nita_
But don’t get me wrong now, Chareena ensures that all guests indulge in a comfortable stay, and enjoys all the pros of holiday living.
Photo Via F_fittry
Each unit has its own outside seating area, whether its a balcony or patio decked with chairs and/or hammocks, and the beds are big and comfortable! (Really great value for money in my opinion.)
Photo Via Anyarinsweet, Sumi.nita_
You can also hire kayaks and canoes from the resort, as well as snorkelling gear, just FYI.
12. Perfectly perched on the shore and so peaceful too – Wapi
This is cute, functional and everything you need to spend a few peaceful days chilling out on the beach, whether on the beach right here, or another beach around the island.
Photo Via Aomhathai, Travelwizards
Set in a garden of towering tall pine trees, that seem to stretch and make their way over to the sand – the bungalows are individually placed in between it all, facing a line of little bobbing boats on the shoreline.
Photo Via Travelholicfrolic, Jijaey
The Ocean Front bungalow has the best views of them all, so you can anticipate spending your mornings rising early, and enjoying a (good) coffee from your patio with your toes in the sand. All the rooms here are really clean and comfortable too.
Photo Via Travelwizrds
It’s perfectly perched on the shore, where you can spend the afternoon snorkelling in the close to shore waters (perfect for toddlers wanting to explore).

13. All the comforts of home on the oceanfront – Bella Vista
Make yourself totally at home, down at their oceanfront villas that look like a garden-cottage ready to rent.
Photo Via Ellenhman, Mew_wichada
Each Oceanfront cottage bungalow unit is spacious and roomy, and the rooms are separated into separate living and sleeping areas (and separate private bathroom).
(The wardrobe space is also amazing just by the way and super organised!)
The on-site restaurant serves some seriously delicious Thai food and there’s also a beautiful sun-terrace, perfect for sundowners, or dinner under the stars!

14. Huge resort with plenty of options! – Sita Beach Resort
If you and your babe have just said ‘I do’, this honeymoon suite on a drop-dead gorgeous island such as Koh Lipe, could be a good option for you! It’s also super affordable for a honeymoon suite and location.
The suite is decked out with all the stops, and I’m sure the two of you will be sharing a glass of champagne – or two – in that gigantic spa bath inside the room. 😉
Photo Via Wankawun
The rest of Sita is great too, from their beachfront restaurant to the outdoor pool for when you’re not feeling the ocean.

15. Tarzan and Jane’s house, maybe? – Sawan
Nestled among the trees, and hidden away above crystal blue waters that flow below, these ultra gorgeous wooden units give me all the treehouse feels.

I actually love how everything has been carved and made from wood – down to the bathtub built in – it screams Tarzan and Jane’s house to me.

I absolutely love love loveeee the patio they’ve built here and each unit has its own spacious area. The design almost gives me Medeterrian vibes, and I can totally imagine myself spending hours in this spot!
