Is there really another island as breathtakingly beautiful as Koh Lipe? It is dubbed the ‘Maldives’ of Thailand after all, and for obvious reasons, with waters so crystal clear, I don’t know if I’ve seen a bluer blue before.

Now that I’m on this gorgeous island, I most definitely want to be staying somewhere where I’m on the beach and can see the ocean at all times.

With such natural beauty, it’s not hard to make everything else look so pretty, but these beach villas, bungalows and resorts caught our attention because of their extra special views and locations.

Enjoy the next couple of days kicking it back with your feet up (or in the sand), swaying gently to the ocean’s breeze in your hammock – book in hand, or spend a lazy afternoon soaking up the sunshine in your private patio pool. The options are tropical-island dreamy.

If you’re like me and feel most home when next to the ocean, your heart is going to be delighted! Enjoy ❤️

2. Looking for a total private-island feeling? – Idyllic Concept

Before sharing more about this resort, can I just say that we stayed here personally and absolutely loved our experience here.

We stayed in the i-Breeze room, which was literally 5 steps away from the ocean. I stayed up every night on our patio, chilling on the sofa while enjoying the sound of the waves and the ocean breeze. It was incredible!

Photo Via Somjitratarn, Jerrylim02

This is a great option if you’re looking for a place with a variety of room options too. Clean and classy, this resort almost feels secluded thanks to the layout of the resort.

Enjoy their outdoor pool (and bar), which also happens to be a few steps from the beach, or enjoy dinner by candlelight, on the beach, with the stars above you. It’s all super romantic and ambient, to say the least. 🖤🖤🖤

3. Enjoy a glass of vino, overlooking the ocean from your private pool – Mountain Resort

If you had to show me a picture simply of this location, I would already be sold. The real show here is of course, the ocean, but the rooms are promising too, and the Ocean Pool Villa is the real treat here.

Glass sliding doors ensure an incredible sunrise from the comforts of your soft bed, and if that’s not enough, there’s a perfectly sized pool for two on your patio too. (I love the contemporary/traditional Thai design they’ve infused!)

5. Location, location, location! – The Cliff Lipe Resort

Escape from the world in this total island-feel stay, set among the trees and hibiscus flowers, staring out into crystal clear hues of blues.

They’ve absolutely nailed the ‘tropical island’ design – think Hawaii – and the resort is made up of villas and beach bungalows, all decked in gorgeous raw woods from the exterior to interiors.

Photo Via Mos.kannupak

I particularly love that these units don’t only consist of a bed, but also a sofa seating area inside, as well as a spacious and comfortable outdoor seating area. (This is always a plus for me, I love to just lounge around, with my holiday reading book in hand.)

6. Could this truly be a fairytale? – Anda Resort

This reminds me of Sleeping Beauty, but if she stayed in a Thai castle garden, and this is giving me all the magical feels.

Photo Via Aanehh, Ozzakki_tai

I love the style they’ve adopted, Thai meets Balinese design, and the odd spinning wheel here and there makes me think of the Netherlands (but it all works).

Their Deluxe Rooms with sea views are simply stunning, and I would happily wake up to that view every day.

Rooms are done in classy warm woods, high ceilings and open window doors make it feel spacious and airy.

7. Gorgeous individual modern beach villas, literally in the sand – Mali Resort

If you’ve ever travelled to Bali, I’m sure you’ll distinctly remember the design that they’re famous for, displaying high, pointy ceilings, with intricate woodwork.

Photo Via Powderkc

(I often see similarities between the Thai and Balinese design, hey?!), and I would say that this beautiful stay is perfect for couples.

There are various beach villa options, and they are all dispersed around the resort’s garden (which overruns with sand, as it’s on the beachfront). And most of them face the ocean and are in the sand!

Photo Via Phet_khaekhai, Dave0526

I’m also sooo into the open-plan style bathrooms, decorated with plants and ferns, against industrial cement.

Photo Via Roselily7p, Jamepts

The rooms are classy and well-designed, with a lot of space to move around. I’m also really into the little nook area they’ve designed, another great spot for chilling in the afternoon sun.

8. For a more laid-back, jungle kinda feeling – Castaway Resort

If you’re not one for the frills and fancy things… Personally I’m a very laid-back relaxed kinda person, so a place like this pulls on my heartstrings.

Castaway Resort has got this jungle-island fever thing going on, and with the name and vibe they’ve adopted, it reminds me of the movie, The Beach (with Leonardo Decaprio) for some reason.

Photo Via Sofyoga

I love the naturalness and openness of the entire resort, as well as bungalows and villas.

The double story beachfront villas (Breezy Bungalow Beach Front), are incredible, with your room upstairs decorated colourfully using traditional Thai fabrics – and a gorgeous large patio with two hammocks, just perfect for chilling, lazing and drinking in all that ocean.

10. You’ll definitely catch a romantic sunset from here, right on the beach – Salisa Resort

A little more low-key, in a fairy-like forest, this also happens to be a great choice if you’re travelling as a family! (The kids will have a blast running around this spacious setup on the sand).

Photo Via Noeypitchas, Banky405_photo

Everything here feels natural, set up among wispy trees, on soft white sands. The bungalow-style units have big, open doors and each unit has a patio.

The rooms have been designed using different raw materials and textures – and feel really private with your own private patio and space around you.

This is cute, functional and everything you need to spend a few peaceful days chilling out on the beach, whether on the beach right here, or another beach around the island.

Photo Via Aomhathai, Travelwizards

Set in a garden of towering tall pine trees, that seem to stretch and make their way over to the sand – the bungalows are individually placed in between it all, facing a line of little bobbing boats on the shoreline.

Photo Via Travelholicfrolic, Jijaey

The Ocean Front bungalow has the best views of them all, so you can anticipate spending your mornings rising early, and enjoying a (good) coffee from your patio with your toes in the sand. All the rooms here are really clean and comfortable too.

*** Travel with Heart: Sustainable Tourism***
This is the first time we’ve ever seen a destination in Thailand that’s so mindful of the impact of people and travel on the environment. Eco-friendliness is something that the locals in Koh Lipe strongly believe in, and they are doing their part to protect their precious island.

No plastic bags are offered at 7-Elevens, for example. Instead, you could opt to purchase a recyclable bag to put your items in. In all the washrooms on the island, there’s no toilet paper available, and instead, they promote the use of the ‘Bum Gum’ (bidet toilet spray) for hygiene.

Photo Via TripCanvas

Photo Via Splashpacker.com_

Every Monday, Trash Hero is held where people gather to pick trash off the beaches and in the ocean. When you’re on the island, you’ll see locals picking trash off the beach anytime. And if you go on snorkelling tours, if your instructor spots a piece of trash on the ocean floor, they’ll make sure to retrieve it too.

Photo Via Adangseadivers.com_

When travelling here, let’s do our part to protect this gem of an island along with the locals, and be mindful of our impact on the environment. Thank you!

I mean, as if the waters aren’t already convincing enough, now imagine spending the next few days, week, month…(hey, you never know) in the most gorgeous stays with breathtaking views to go, and the ocean on your doorstep. It already sounds like paradise to me…!
