1. Have a private island experience without spending a fortune on it – The Village Coconut Island (Phuket)

Number one… This IS on a private island (Aptly, Coconut Island) and all the units here are spread out along the beachfront, each with their own private pool or hot tub!

Villas are stylishly designed in a contemporary aesthetic and are luxe, comfortable and with all the amenities of home.

Head down to the private beach overlooking Phang Nga Bay, and spot the beautiful bridge in the middle of the sea. At night, it’s lit up with fairy lights, and looks absolutely magical, especially over the ocean.

PS: Phuket is just a 5-minute boat ride away and The Village Island Coconut does offer a  24-hour water taxi service, departing every 30 minutes.

2. Say hello to the paradise you never knew was waiting – Kept Bangsaray (Pattaya)

It’s no secret that many resorts in the Maldives are pushing $250 USD per night – more if you want the full Honeymoon package. What most people don’t know is that you can have the idyllic lifestyle for a fraction of the price near Pattaya.

The first thing that will take your breath away, are the undeniable views for days. And that’s not even the best part! You’ll have a guaranteed 360° view of the ocean at all times as the accommodation here is literally built in the waters – are we in Maldives or what??!! 😍

And last but not least, off the sides of their wooden bridge (which also connects villas), guests can enjoy a candlelit dinner with seating on the actual pier itself, and it’s touted as ‘Infinity Table’ because of its sweeping views of the horizon.

3. Totally Maldives vibes with stays built in the waters – The Blue Sky Resort (Koh Phayam, Ranong)

Oh, how beautiful! It looks like this accommodation is built among the mangroves, near the ocean’s edge! Some of the villas are situated among the mangroves (which are built in the water), and some face the ocean…

And talking about bridges, you’re spoilt for choice here, as there isn’t just one, but many gorgeous wooden bridges, that also act as walkways in and around the property.

The rooms are also absolutely gorgeous, designed in a circular shape (much like a traditional South African rondavel), with a thatched roof, and warm solid woods designing the interiors.

PS: They also offer free kayak and bicycle rentals to guests, so do go exploring, whether it be on land or water. 😉

4. Escape the world for a couple of days and hide – Away Koh Kood Resort (Ko Kood)

Located right on soft sands, surrounded by a jungle of tropical trees, and separated by a small canal that leads to a lush Mangrove.

Found on Klong Chao Beach, a wooden bridge extends from the property into crystal blue waters, and you can enjoy activities such as kayaking on the ocean, or diving from here too!

Rooms-wise, the Bungalow Villas are organic and have a beach-esque feel, done in woods and whites.

5. Is this in the Philippines? Maldives? – Koh Kood Resort

The waters here are so clear, you may need a quick reminder that you’re still floating in the Land of Smiles. The setup is also absolutely beautiful and truly feels like an oceanic getaway.

Spend the afternoon chilling on the beachfront terrace, looking directly onto the sea, and walk a few metres onto the sands where you’ll spot a long, wooden bridge stretching into what looks like a swimming pool (but is, in fact, the ocean!)

There are so many photo spots and ops here too, from the bridge to chill catamaran nets hanging above the waters, and ocean swings…

6. Swimming pool, or ocean? – Sea Far Resort (Ko Kood)

Start your morning with a gorgeous stroll along your private beach, finished off by gazing into the endless blue horizon from a wooden bridge placed right in the ocean – which is a kind of a self-meditation on its own, don’t you think?

Situated on Ao Taphao beach, there are a variety of different room options to choose from, which are all super cosy and cute. Set among a garden, some also come with idyllic ocean views, even from your bathtub!

Spend your days lazing about on loungers in the sand (directly next to the bridge), or make use of the guest pool!

7. An ocean bridge that seems to go on forever – Kohmak Cinnamon Art Resort And Spa (Koh Mak)

Seriously though? Extending allll the way from way up on the sand, and stretching across the waters until it disappears… It makes for a seriously picturesque setting.

From an endless bridge to cute ocean nets – for the ultimate ocean-chill spot – and the sweet garden bungalows in their dark woods, it almost feels like a beachside fairy-folk resort.

8. For all your tropical beach feels – A-Na-Lay Resort (Trat)

Super affordable and right on the beach, with uber-comfortable bungalows, there are so many beautiful spots around the resort.

All of which can be explored via wooden boardwalks, that lead to a wooden bridge extending out over blue waters, as well as some rockery – which becomes uncovered when the tides are low.

I absolutely adore the cabin-style units, built completely in caramel-coloured woods which reminds me of the mountains.

And lastly, we have to mention the dining views. Enjoy a (romantic) dinner on the resort’s deck, basically built on the sand, with endless views of the flat, calm ocean surrounding you – and don’t even get me started on the sunset!

9. Secluded, romantic and an incredible sunset view from the edge of the bridge – Koh Mak Cococape Resort (Koh Mak)

Looking for some down-time with your love, away from the crowds and with a private-island feeling? Well, that’s what you’ll get here and you won’t have to worry about breaking the bank either!

Built on a private seafront of Ao Suan Yai Beach, the surroundings here are really beautiful, from the waters to the softness of the sky. And if you’re wondering where the best views are, come sunset time, stroll along the wooden bridge stretching into the ocean, with endless blues around you… How dreamy!

They’ve also given the bungalows a really homely feel, and I love the mix of textures used in the design, from wood to stone.

10. If you’ve never visited this little isle, now is the time (and don’t forget to stay here) – Koh Mak Resort (Koh Mak)

Ultra chill and among the palm trees, this is the ultimate quiet spot and built directly on the water’s front on the tiny island of Koh Mak.

Enjoy dining with your feet in the sand, grab a cocktail at the beach bar, and laze about in the sand with a book in hand on one of the guest loungers or cabanas.

From the sand, take a walk along their ocean bridge, extending into the soft, low waters – the perfect spot for a bit of morning yoga too!

All the bungalows here accommodate sea views and are white, bright and beachy.

I’m in love with the entire setup here from the location to the design. From the beachy vibes to the sorta Bali-style bungalows done in solid woods and classy accents…

And can we quickly talk about this amazing outdoor shower for a second…I’m so into the mix of textures, cement, rattan, woods, and bamboo. It’s all just really beautiful!

Special Mention 2: Everything you need in a seafront resort, and then some – Paradee (Koh Samet)

Step off the pier onto the sands of this private resort which you can find located along the shores of peaceful Kio Bay. The waters here are also insanely clear and the sands so perfectly soft and white!

The villas are absolutely stunning with a Thai/Morroccon theme going on (I LOVE love when Thai resorts or hotels mix the two together, it works so well) – so expect lots of organic materials and colour!

Enjoy the sunset sky as it changes into a thousand shades of pink and orange from the perfect spot on their wooden bridge stretching into the sea – or from their beautiful wooden beach bar – followed with a cocktail in hand.

FYI: Plastic (in any form) is not allowed on the island. If you are found breaking this law, you will be fined 1000 Baht. 

Special Mention 3: From an ocean bridge to overwater catamaran nets – The Beach Natural Resort (Ko Kood)

I could easily spend a day (or five) at this resort, with not a care in the world, living it up in absolute style and comfort in my b.e.a.utifullll modern villa, with its private pool, patio, incredible bathroom and views of endless greens and blues.

Take a jump off their wooden bridge, built far enough into the water (which is absolutely calm, as well as crystal clear), or grab a kayak and do some oceanic exploring instead!

The bridge gets lit up at night too and looks rather spectacular as hundreds of stars twinkle above.

I mean, wow, are these gorgeous or what! 😉
