You’ve probably heard of Bangkok’s newest and luxurious shopping mall – ICONSIAM. But what makes this mall so special and different from Siam Paragon or EmQuartier?

One thing’s for sure – it’s by the river (grandiose malls are usually located in the city centre).

There’s also the indoor floating market that people are raving about (you can’t find it anywhere else!) and the two spectacular fountains located inside and outside the mall. Don’t forget the variety of famous Thai restaurants that have opened their branches here too, among many other things!

Consisting of 11 floors, you’ll most likely become overwhelmed by the mall (or even lose your way here). That’s why we’ve compiled a checklist of 8 unique things you shouldn’t miss in ICONSIAM.

1. Try Thailand’s unique flavours at Bangkok’s affordable indoor floating market – SookSiam (G floor)

If you’re eager to try Thailand’s numerous local delights, I’ll highly recommend coming to SookSiam. Not only is it EXTREMELY affordable, but there’s also a spread of food choices you can choose from (from street food to snacks and dessert). Chive dumplings for 50 baht, healthy flower teas for 49 baht and boat noodles for 60 baht? So cheap!

Not sure what are the famous Thai restaurants to try here? What about…

  • Pad Thai by Thipsamai (from 159 baht/ USD $5.14)

  • Seafood by Laem Charoen Seafood (from 100 baht/ USD $3.24)

  • Thai-style shabu-shabu by MK Live (from 98 baht/ USD $3.17)

3. Revel in ICONSIAM’s beauty! – ICONIC Multimedia Water Feature (G floor) & Alangkarn Zone (6th floor)

Visitors are easily amazed by ICONSIAM’s grandiose structure and themed floors. However, what’s more impressive is their musical water fountain show (ICONIC Multimedia Water Feature) and indoor mini waterfall at the Alangkarn Zone (similar to the waterfall in Jewel Changi).

The ICONIC Multimedia Water Feature combines lighting, music and water effects (available 3 times per day). Whereas their mini indoor waterfall makes you feel like you’re in the countryside with handcrafted fishes and lights adorning the Alangkarn Zone. Definitely picture-worthy!

No need to fly to Japan. At ICONSIAM, you can find all the Japanese products from across Japan – from Japanese snacks (gotta love their ice-cream and chocolates!) to regular Japanese food (yummy sushi and Hokkaido food ^^) to Japanese fine-dining. You can even get quality Japanese products here, whether it’s cosmetics, hats or bags.
