Without further ado, here you go with 12 of the best hotels we’ve found under $40 located right at Pratunam.

1. Rooftop jacuzzi hot tubs and stunning city views – The Posh Phayathai

As mentioned in the name, this hotel is truly posh! With a rooftop jacuzzi hot tub, you will feel as though you are in a luxury resort without the cost.

Surprisingly enough, this isn’t a hotel, but a hostel! It comes with dorm rooms for those looking to really go budget with your accommodation. For those of us who prefer more private lodging, private rooms are available too!

A spacious rooftop terrace and gorgeous rooms make this hostel an excellent option, if you are looking for a vibrant social experience to go along with your shopping vacation.

2. Comfortable and convenient, and opposite Platinum Mall – G6 Bangkok Hotel

This is a newly opened hotel right across from Platinum Mall.

Decked in pristine white, this hotel only offers double rooms, so if you’re looking something a bit more homely and spacious for two, this might be it.

Enjoy a light morning spread offering fresh fruits, bread (with jams, differents honeys and Nutella!!), cold meats and cheeses, yoghurt, yummy oats and grains!

They also offer guests a ride to the main road and the closest BTS is just a 6 minute walk away! So no moans and groans expected from the little ones if you’re travelling with the family!

PS: This is not suitable for those with wheelchair/baby strollers, as you’ll have to go down the stairs.

3. Beautiful finishings and some 50s vintage vibes  – Vince Hotel Pratunam

Now this place is super cool and there’s something a bit different – a bit of retro vintage that I’m feeling, that I just simply love.

One of its most evocative features for me has to be the old-school ‘Diner’, where complimentary breakfast is served errrrday!

The attention to design detail is scrumptious actually; black and white bricks, contrasting overlays, brass and industrial touches and an old-school feeling running throughout.

The rooms are spacious with lots of room to store all your shopping!

The family room even has a bathtub, I mean I think I’d consider even taking it up just for that reason!

4. Keep it simple and fresh in downtown Bangkok – Lemontea Hotel

Sweetness is the word that pops to mind when checking into this next hotel!

I love how they describe their concept as; “staying here is much like drinking a glass of lemon tea: Casual, Easy, and Fresh,” because that’s exactly the ambiance they’ve created.

Each room is themed to a different type of tea, Japanese Matcha, Lemon Tea, Oland, and Earl Grey are just to name a few – cute!

Adding small touches such as bicycles filled with succulents and little lego-like figurines everywhere, really makes the difference too! Love it!

5. Literally the perfect location if you’re on a shopping adventure! – First House Hotel Bangkok

In the heart and soul of Pratunam, you’ll find our next shopaholics’ dream hotel location!

It’s literally metres away from the Pratunam Market, as well as right near Platinum Fashion Mall and Central World Plaza – so if you’re here to shop till you drop, you’ve definitely chosen the right place.

It’s your standard hotel by good measures and is clean and neatly designed.

There are two types of room options (superior or premier). I would definitely say go with a Premier room – if you’re into your aesthetics like myself, contrasting white brick walls and black and black and white bathroom floors, yes please!

Perfection location, wonderful staff, and tons of street food around, that’s what makes the difference.

6. Colour blocks and colour pops! – Budacco Hotel

You won’t be able to stop smiling, like no literally, with all the bright colours that surround you at your stay at this happy hotel!

It’s almost got that classic Japanese simplimism to it. My personal favourite is the Executive suite with its low-set spa type bed and more windows for natural light.

The floors are wooden and natural, and each room feels open and peaceful.

Enjoy their free American breakfast every morning, although to be honest, I’m notttt sure how on point they got that one.

It’s a good effort though and a quick fill-me-up especially before a very long day of shoppinggggg!

7. It’s artistic and beautiful with lots of greenery – KC Place Hotel Pratunam

Just 5 minutes’ walk from Pratunam Market and you’ll find KC Place, a celebration of rich Thai culture where the hotel design is warm and classical.

Dark woods and rich colours, I’m talking reds, oranges and browns – make a stay here a very pleasant one.

The rooms are clean and spacious, and there are interconnected rooms available for those who’re looking for it – eg, families or friends who love that interconnected room/midnight party experience.

I found the entrance so inviting too, as green ferns drip down the front against natural woods.

You’ll find the hotel’s restaurant on the lowest level serving traditional Thai dishes, and let me just say, that curry, yeah, it looks quite yum!

When you’re back from a day of shopping, massages are available in the hotel too!

8. It’s really modern with funky colours and design – Pratunam19 Hotel

Another fantasstic choice right in heart and soul of the shopping district of Pratunam!

It’s a place that certainly comes with a view – especially if you’re staying on say, floor 34. A beautiful night-time, bright city lights picture awaits!

Rooms are a comfortable size, as well as being kept well-maintained and clean.

All room have AC – I mean we all know how bloody hot Bangkok can get – flat screen TVs as well as a small fridge to keep all your snacks and treats, picked up on your day walking the streets of BKK.

PS: It’s a 5-10 minute walk to Platinum Mall and Pantip Plaza, and 15-20mins to Central World Plaza, with tons of delicious street munchies to keep you preoccupied and smiling.

9. Clean, sleek and oh-so-minimalist – Marwin Space

If you’re looking just to stay the night in something clean and affordable, this isn’t too shabby if you ask me.

The hotel’s style is monochromatic, and the rooms are minimalist but comfortable in design.

The great thing about staying here is the variety different room options that they offer. It’s perfect for travellers in groups, or odd numbers of three, or maybe you’re a couple – they cater to suit all different travellers!

Unfortunately there’s no breakfast with this one, but there are plenty of local restaurants and street food stall lining the roads.

Foodie travel tip: Try Soi 19 Wanton Noodle, a famous little wanton noodle shop, serving delicious bowls of heaven until 3pm only!

10. Looking for a place with a balcony and a bathtub? – Hotel De Bangkok

We were specifically looking for a great place to stay at in Pratunam with both a balcony and a bathtub, and found Hotel de Bangkok.

It’s clean, comfortable and pretty spacious with soothing and simple decor.

While it’s slightly further from the shopping areas (about 15 minutes walk), we enjoyed the walk every time thanks to the glimpse into lives of the locals around! (It’s also approximately a 5 minute walk from Ratchaprarop train station if you’re looking to travel further.)

If you’re coming back late from shopping and are looking for late night places to eat at, or massage places to get those tired legs sorted out, this is the place to be.

Take a short 5 minute walk around the vicinity and you’ll find crowded street stalls with amazing food – or massage places with really good massage services that we were genuinely surprised to find!

11. Dip into the swimming pool and lush garden views – Parkview Ratchaprarop

Love a good scandinavian design? Parkview Ratchaprarop delivers minimalist scandinavian just the way we like it.

It’s an incredibly comfortable stay that offers a swimming pool to chill in, lush garden views to soothe your stresses away, and a convenience store for all your needs!

If you’re bringing the kiddos along, there’s even a kids play place so you can keep them occupied while you relax to your heart’s content.

Centrally located this hotel is sure to tick all your boxes for a great stay in Bangkok.

12. Looking for a swimming pool and fitness center? – Le Tada Residence

Modern, cosy, comfortable and private seems to be the motto of Le Tada Residence with its sleek interiors. It even offers up a swimming pool and fitness center along with an onsite restaurant!
