So you’ve heard of True Love @ Neverland, and maybe even made the trip to visit the gorgeous huskies there. It’s time to up your dog cafe game by visiting the ultimate of all dog cafes – Big Dog Cafe Bangkok!

I’ve heard the phrase “saw a dog as huge as a horse”, and the doggies at Big Dog Cafe might just live up to it.

They’re humongous with a capital H, and I would bet, some are definitely taller than me when standing. -_-’’’
There are at least 24 of the cutest and cuddly reasons (see photo below) to visit Big Dog Cafe in Bangkok, but we’ll summarise it in 7.
1. There’s a new boy in town and his name is – King Kong the Tibetan Mastiff
These guys have a horribly bad rep, but just as with all dogs, it’s not the breed – it’s the owner. And no doubt King Kong’s got a lot going for him at Big Dog Cafe, I mean… Look at that face.

One interesting thing about him though: his ancestors have been used by Tibet tribes to ward off wolves, leopards, bears and tigers!
2. Meet the star of the show who’s almost as big as a horse – Solo the Alaskan Malamute
If you quickly scroll through Instagram, you’ll see Solo popping up often in photos visitors have taken. He’s inquisitive, extremely friendly, and loves getting his nose into everything.

Although we’re not sure how many of you can pick him up, it appears he loves being carried like a little big baby too.

This friendly giant has a little mini me. Isn’t she just adorable?
PS: There are other Alaskan Malamutes at the cafe to meet like BC and Boston!
3. Cuddle up with the dog that looks more like a bear – Chowder the Chow Chow
Heard of Chow Chows? This particular breed resembles bears, and thankfully they’re as cuddly as you’d imagine.
Chowder the Chow Chow is pretty hilarious with his ever grumpy face, but don’t be deterred, he loves meeting new people too. He’s also so tame, you can pretty much play with him like these girls did!

4. Watch giant dogs goofily swim in their own doggy pool – Doggy Swimming Pool
One interesting feature of the new Big Dog Cafe Bangkok, is their own doggy swimming pool.

If you’re lucky, you might be able to watch these adorable goofballs swimming around in the doggy pool – and with their own doggy life jackets to boot!

Stoked to visit these BFG-Ds (Read: Big Friendly Giant Dogs)?

5. This might be the most fashionable dog of the cafe – Casper the Afghan Hound
I don’t know about you, but Casper the Afghan Hound looks like he’ll fit right on the runway with his voguing good looks. His unique features make him pretty much unforgettable, and let’s be honest, Afghan Hounds aren’t that easy to be spotted anywhere else!

6. You can’t resist these next stars of the cafe – Mama and Mumu the Old English Sheepdogs
Mama and Mumu are too cute and cuddly to resist, and undoubtedly make a pawfect reason to visit. (Personally, I’ve always wanted one, so here’s the next best thing, haha!)

7. Other rare and hard-to-find breeds – Candy the Airedale Terrier, Cookie the Russian Wolfhound
Meet Candy the Airedale Terrier and Cookie the Russian Wolfhound (also known as the Borzoi). Both are super cute and friendly breeds worth plenty of cuddles!

PS: Other rare dog breeds available include Martin the Timber Wolf, Butter the Komondor, and so much more!
PSS: Don’t forget to give the ultra cute “common” breeds like Corgis, Bulldogs, Shih Tzus and Pomeranians some love too!

8. Aside from the massive dogs, they also serve some decent chow! – Mains, Drinks & Dessert
With super guilt-inducing foods like cakes and pasta, we’re sure you’ll be able to find something that will satisfy any craving.
You can get standard mains like Carbonara and Fried Rice on the menu. Apart from that, one highlight not to miss are the desserts on offer such as the ‘Premium Boston Brown Bonanza’.

It’s a plate piled high with everything a chocolate lover would love from Swiss Chocolate Roll to Ferrero Rocher, Snickers, Brownies, Chocolate Ice Cream, and topped with Chocolate Lava Sauce.

9. Here’s more things you need to know before visiting – Hygiene Concerns, Making Reservations
Like any sort of animal cafe, hygiene standards can be a huge concern (that’s how you know they are being well looked after!)

The good thing about Big Dog Cafe Bangkok, is that cleaning and sterilisation of the warm and cosy flowery cafe is done every 2 hours – so you’ll get to enjoy a comfortable and fun time with the dogs.
PS: Do be sure to make reservations in advance according to the reservation timings below. Also make sure to arrive at least 30 minutes ahead of time – if you’d like to eat at your leisure before the dogs are released. (Otherwise, you might not be able to finish your meal in peace!)
