1. Rooftop pool and a few mins stroll to  Asok BTS and Terminal 21 – Ruamchitt Plaza Hotel

At this hotel, they’re all about pleasing their guests, and ensuring YOU are happy at all times. From their 24/h front desk check in, to their onsite restaurant that stays open till 2am, serving you comfort food from pancakes to Tom Yum!

This is great choice because of the natural lighting that filters into each room, with large windows stretching across.

I also love a good wooden floor – it always adds warmth – and each room is decked with it.

This is another hotel that offers tons of different room options (11 to be exact!). They do book out fast just FYI, so make sure to book your room in advance.

You’ll also get your own balcony or terrace, depending on which floor you’re staying on. (We were lucky enough to get a balcony that overlooked the hotel’s rooftop pool, as well as surrounding views of the city!)

The rooms are decorated in a modern Lanna style, providing character to make it really homey.

With cheerful colours splashed out, and a bathtub for a relaxing soak, what else do we really need? Armed with the philosophy of providing a comfortable living environment, they provide laundry services, restaurants and free tuk tuk shuttles.

The rooftop offer skyline views, or you can choose to float on your back and watch the clouds shift. There’s a certain peacefulness that comes with being above everything. If you can get a margarita to go with it, all the better.

5. Convenient and around the corner from everything you need! – Aspira G Sukhumvit 33

It’s a boutique hotel style, with a welcoming intimacy to it. The rooms are neither large nor small, and fit just the right amount of space for everything.

Plus there’s a really great-sized bathroom as well as shower, just in case you were wondering. 😉

There’s a luxuxrious touch in the overall design of this hotel and some of the room (Grand Deluxe Room) options have the most open windows, stretching from floor to ceiling. Imagine waking up to a beautiful city view every day!

There are tons of restaurants, places to eat and bars around, from Thai to Western cuisine, and EmQuartier and Emporium are only a couple minutes’ walk away.

6. Fancy staying in a hotel that has a little artist’s touch – Aspira Davinci Sukhumvit 31

It’s so European, and I’m so totally into it. This screams French/English design and it’s as beautiful on the inside as it is inviting from the outside.

There’s a colonial sort of vibe to it, and it could even be mistaken for a gorgeous roadside cafe/bakery.

The rooms here are so nice and spacious (considering the price and location), and tastefully decorated in whites, creams, hints of beige and black. I especially love the white polka dot walls in the bathrooms.

The thoughtful touches of picture frames and vintage suitcases, plants and wall mirrors really gives it a gorgeous homely feel, AND each room comes with a sofa and bathtub – oh happy days!

7. It’s like Breakfast at Tiffany’s with a pool? – Kingston Suites Hotel Bangkok

This is like Breakfast at Tiffany’s meets old-English world charm, or it could even be reminiscent of the Renaissance, with it’s soft dusty pink and cream hues and tones.

NOW, my absolute favourite part about this stay, is they have a POOL! We all know just how hot Bangkok can get, especially after hours of walking the streets.

The rooms here are bright, pretty and spacious, and you definitely won’t feel confined as a result. They also come with all the comforts of a home (sofas, wooden tables, full length mirrors and LOADS of cupboard space!).

This is another cute spot, that’s great for lovers and there’s a certain romanticism in the air here.

8. No, we’re not talking about Mars here – Red Planet Bangkok Asoke

Look out for the stylish red and white futuristic-looking building and step inside this cute and modern hotel.

As hinted in the name, the hotel is accented in red not just on the outside but in the inside too. And it’s been done tastefully with just the right amount of colour.

There’s a warmth to this hotel’s set up and the rooms reflect it. They’re cosy and comfortable from the bed to the shower head! (Always makes a difference, I’m telling you!)

Furniture and accents are done in light woods, whites and a touch of red, nice!

And if you’re in this part of town to shop, you’ll be absolutely thrilled to know that Terminal 21 is a mere 4mins walk from your stay. It’s time to shop… till we drop!

9. Clean, white and minimal with marbled bathrooms? –  S Box Sukhumvit Hotel

This is probably the best version of what you would think an actual Bangkok budget hotel would be, if we’re going along the lines of The Hangover movie, with neon lights and all.

It’s a compact, cereal box-like shape, and all of the bedrooms have gigantic open facing windows so you can see out to the entire city below you. A

The great thing about these rooms is the bathroom with its cool marbled interiors that makes it feel super glamorous.

Clean, white and minimal, this is one that’s truly value-for-money, while providing a pretty nice place to rest!

10. Clean, young and fun – Armoni Hotel Sukhumvit 11

It’s clean and comes with everything you’ll need for a couple night’s stay in Bangkok. This hotel also has a fresh and young feeling to it – almost like a vibrant little hostel.

They’ve also got a no under 18’s policy, so if you’re not keen on staying at a hotel packed with excited kids, you just might want this.

What makes it a great choice? It’s got loads of different room options from their Superior Double room to the Executive Suite, so if you’re travelling with 1 friend, 2, 3 or 5, they’ve got you sorted.

There’s some natural lighting but don’t expect a ton of it – and if you’re worried about that sort of thing – there’s plenty of bright lights in and around your room and bathroom to make up for it.

11. Pretty, warm and everyone raves about its location – White House Asoke Sukhumvit 18

Natural, light and warm (with a touch of Japanese design). That’s what comes to mind when taking a peek inside White House.

It’s another clean and pretty space, and they’ve used lots of light woods, beige and cream colours that lend a softness to this quaint boutique-like hotel.

This is a great one for couples, there’s a peacefulness to it (which we all sometimes need after a long day of shopping).

Everyone also raves about its location as well as the warm, polite and friendly staff!

Lastly, if you’re ever feeling peckish but don’t feel like walking the streets any longer, they also have a little Italian Restaurant and their sarmies look delish!

12. Hostel-style set up with a monochromatic and urban-cool feel! – 3 Howw Hostel at Sukhumvit 21

Light, clean and perfect for a night or two in the big city, this hostel-like set-up is perfect for travellers on the go.

I love love love the contrasting textures and interiors they’ve used in the design, from white brick walls to geometric iron lamp shades.

This is also a perfect pick for budget travelling, and their dormitory-style room shares start at just $10. White, wooden bunk beds and touches of chunky wooden tree stumps for tables, very cool. Of course, private rooms are available too!

And I have to give the art around this space a mention, there’s little accents of Picasso across their walls, done in black and white figurative outline – great design always makes a difference in my opinion, especially in a hostel-like setup.

13. Simple and comfortable and near Terminal 21! – Studio Nana by iCheck Inn

It’s clean, decent and convenient located just an 8-minute walk to Terminal 21, 2-minute walk to Nana BTS, and 6-minute walk to Asok BTS.

How’s that for accessible?

The rooms are simple and comfortable, and there are plenty of places to eat around the vicinity, including a Family Mart for your late night snacks. There’s also a coffee machine at the reception where you can enjoy your coffee.

Do note that this is located in the nightlife area, so it’ll be especially good if you plan to hit up some nightlife spots with your friends!

PS: This is very strict for smoking! A deposit must be paid at check-in to ensure that the guest does not smoke according to the rules (the deposit will be returned at check-out).

14. Pretty sweet and all you need including a rooftop terrace! – Jellybean The Blocks Hostel Sukhumvit 10

Sweet like a pack of jelly beans, this is your basic hostel/hotel, so don’t expect anything overly fancy here, just the right amount of comfort and basics in each room.

The rooms are small and compact, done in clean and simple whites.

This is a great choice if you’re looking for some social time, and great for groups of friends travelling. Although the rooms are simple in design, their communal areas have been equipped to offer you all the luxuries you might be missing from home.

Don’t forget to check out their rooftop terrace! Drinks by sunset anyone?

Special Mention 1: – Travelodge Sukhumvit 11

Travelodge is a beautiful hotel you might want keep your eyes peeled for.

The rooms are simple, spacious, modern, and look oh-so-inviting. There’s even a rooftop swimming pool with daybeds and lovely views to boot!

Complete with a fully decked out gym, and a cafe/restaurant onsite, you’ll pretty much have all you might need for your Bangkok getaway. Whether you want to chill in the pool and soak your sore muscles or escape the heat – or need to get a quick workout in and more… This is one of those hotels that’s designed for your comfort.

Also, stepping into the unexpectedly elegant lobby feels welcoming in itself with an artistically friendly sign with different languages welcoming guests from all over the world!

Special Mention 2:  Plush, lush and all the things we love about staying at a hotel—  Amora NeoLuxe Suites

Stepping things up a bit in terms of luxury and comfort, here you’ll be happy to find all the ‘niceness’ about hotels that we so love; room-service, laundry services, continental breakfasts, etc.

The rooms here are lushly decorated – talking about the furniture and quality of it here, so you can expect to have a heavenly night’s sleep!

It’s a great pick if you’re spending a few nights in the city on business, and rooms come equipped with a great working space/desk area.

There’s a swimming pool and gym for you to make use of when you need to take a break, and if you’re in the mood for a busy night, there’s loads of restaurants and bars around you – all within walking distance – ideal!

This relatively new hotel has won awards for its unique interiors, designed with a fusion of Industrial and cultural Thai touches.

It’s rooms are quite minimalist with an understated elegance. Think black, white, gold and wood accents, and you’ll enjoy a small balcony to go along with it all!

The rooms are quite spacious, and we’d consider this quite a find in Bangkok!

There’s a lovely cafe onsite that’s in line with the Industrial theme – and also oozes some old world charm at the same time.

Exposed concrete with marble countertops, and lots of sunlight streaming through. A stay here is a little like treating your senses to a little fancy feast.
