Lavenders, hydrangeas, and roses. Nope, I’m not listing out my favourite flowers. But you’ll definitely get a chance to see them (and make flower bouquets if you’re lucky) when you visit Flower in hand by P.

A cafe-turned-flower workshop on the last weekend of each month – learn about the type and colours of a specific flower, how to care for them and the best way to wrap them at the flower workshop.

Dunno if you’re going yet? No worries. No reservations are needed to attend the workshop.

However, do note that the type of flowers changes every month, so double check with the cafe if the flower of the month matters to you!

Otherwise, enjoy sweet flowery treats or purchase a personalised floral bouquet.

5. Be Picasso for a day and create your own masterpiece – Paintbar Bangkok

Pour out your creativity on a canvas at Paintbar Bangkok. Each session lasts up to 4 hours, that’s more than enough time to create your own painting masterpiece. Don’t worry about getting paint on you though, since an apron will be provided.

If you finish painting before the allotted time, feel free to paint another piece (for 300 baht).

Advance your knitting skills by joining one of the workshops! Bigknit cafe offers various workshops throughout the year, such as needlework, crochet and knitting. Check out the workshop schedule on their website for specific dates.

At Bigknit Cafe, you can buy food and drinks if you ever get famished while knitting at one of the tables around the cafe. You can also purchase yarn and other knitting tools in case you run out!

8. Love Barbie dolls? Now you can create your own & bring it home! – Monae Home

Were Barbie dolls once a part of your happy childhood (like mine)? What if you could relive your memories? At Monae Home, go back in time by making your own dolls!

At the doll-making workshop, you can decide your doll’s gender (or not, we’re gender neutral here!) – and hairstyle, and style its clothes and accessories. You might even fall in love with dolls all over again because of your personalised doll.

If dolls aren’t your thing, you can also join other workshops like bag-making, painting and jewellery-making. Just make sure to reserve a spot in the workshop first, or you might be denied admission.

Monae Home also has cakes and drinks available in the cafe, in case you get hungry or thirsty.

9. Art’s not dainty! There’s carpentry & leather crafting too! 😉 – Made Here On Earth

Got friends or a boyfriend averse to art activities? Bring them to Made Here On Earth’s wood and leather workshop. The workshop is decked with hand tools, power tools, carpentry gadgets and materials needed to start your wood and leather projects.

Feel at home while exploring your creative interests at Tessa Cafe & Craft Studio. This cosy cafe hosts variousart workshops on different dates. So don’t be surprised if you find yourself learning embroidery one day and baking the next day.

Workshops here can last the entire day, from 9.30am to 4pm. Luckily, registering for a workshop not only entitles you to equipment used during the workshop but also food and drinks! 🙂

But in case you still feel hungry after eating, Tessa Cafe & Craft Studio has a proper little cafe (with limited options) you can order from.

11. Create your own set of ceramic tableware – A Clay Cafe

Bored of eating and drinking from your same ol’ set of plates and mugs? Mould your own dining set – complete with dessert plates, dinner plates, saucers and cups – and paint them when they’re dry.

Design your tableware with your favourite colours and characters (think Doraemon or Snoopy) and take them home after it’s fired.

But if you don’t have much time to spare, we recommend just dining at the cafe for a feel of using quirky ceramic tableware. Note that all the ceramics here are for sale, in case any of them catches your eye! 😉

12. Polish your artistic sensitivity with watercolour, photography and more! – PôET HOUSE CAFE

Looking for a place to explore your artistic interests? Then PôET HOUSE CAFE is perfect for you. Although a full-fledged cafe throughout the week, PôET HOUSE CAFE hosts art workshops on certain weekends under the name GO Creative Studio.

Expect to find a variety of workshops, such as watercolour, photography, and rubber stamping, usually held from 10am to 5pm.

Guess what? The creativity doesn’t end there! In fact, the cafe is quite artsy itself too. So don’t skip on trying their hot beverages (decorated with latte art bears) and beautiful baked goodies!

13. Learn to stitch more with all kinds of stitchwork! – Needle Work

Learning how to create intricate embroidery and other kinds of threadwork has never been easier. (Editor’s Note: Especially if you’ve always wanted to learn embroidery like I do. x.X)

Whatever kind of embroidery interests you, whether it is lace stitching or cutwork or even crochet – Needle Work has a workshop to fit all your needs.

Using your newly-acquired stitching skills, you will be able to design and make your own bags, Christmas tree decor or even a crochet bikini!

The instructor at Needle Work, Prin, is known to be extremely helpful and friendly so even if you are a complete novice, you are sure to get a lot of support from her.

(FYI: For full-day classes, you’ll be given a short break at noon where salad and sandwiches are provided. There’s also a coffee and tea corner, in case you feel thirsty during the workshop!)
